NorthEast United vs Chennaiyin FC Streaming: NorthEast United on Friday earned their maiden points of ISL 2023-24 when they beat Chennaiyin FC 3-0 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati. Goals from Parthib Gogoi, Konsam Phalguni Singh and Asheer Akhtar secured the tie for the Highlanders. NorthEast United climbed to the fourth spot of the ISL table with three points from two games. On the other hand, Chennaiyin FC lagged behind at the 12th spot after facing back-to-back losses.

NorthEast United started the game with intent, and were rewarded around the 40th minute mark. Parthib Gogoi scored his second goal of the campaign with a curling shot from outside the penalty box. The youngster executed a right-footed shot perfectly to slot the ball in the top right corner after being assisted by Romain Philippoteaux.

After the halftime break, NorthEast United were quick to extend their lead via Phalguni, who found no difficulties in putting the ball into the bottom right corner after collecting a cross from Nestor Albiach.

The Highlanders were able to maintain their lead for the remainder of the game and bettered the scoreline in added time when Akhtar netted the third goal for his team.

NorthEast had lost their first game to Mumbai City FC 2-1. Parthib Gogoi scored in that match too but a brace from Argentine striker Jorge Pereyra Diaz handed the Islanders a hard-fought three points from the contest. The Highlanders were looking to get back to winning ways after this defeat and put a near-perfect display against the Southern side.
