Neymar Transfer: Neymar still has 2 years left on his deal with PSG. However, there have been rumours that he wants to leave the French club now. He has been linked with a move to several top-flight clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Manchester City. Since his former coach from Barcelona days, Luis Enrique has now joined PSG as their head coach, the chances of his moving lessen. Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio talks about Neymar’s all transfer possibilities and his relationship with Luis Enrique.

Following teammate Messi’s departure from PSG, Neymar has constantly been linked with a move away as well. Regarding the matter, talking to Wettfreunde, Di Marzio said, “Even if Neymar is on their exit list it will be very difficult for another club to buy him because of his high salary, so it won’t be easy for him to go to a Premier League club or Italy. I definitely don’t think that he wants to go to Saudi Arabia or the United States already now. He wants to play in Europe.”
The Brazilian star still has 2 years left on his contract with PSG. Additionally, he is paid very handsomely at the French club. He joined them back in 2017 on a record transfer fee of €222 million. He has since renewed his contract and as per the new contract, he reportedly earns a $700,000 per week salary. If he is looking to move to a new club, he will probably have to take a huge pay cut. Most clubs won’t be able to afford his salary.
He was first linked with a move to Manchester United. Reportedly, Neymar’s Brazil teammate Casemiro especially wanted the move to happen. However, those rumours have since died down. Manchester City and Chelsea are two more contenders who have been linked with Neymar. However, he could still decide to stay as his former Barcelona coach, Luis Enrique has now joined PSG. The two shared a good bond during their Barcelona days. That could motivate Neymar to stay in PSG a little longer.

Arriving at PSG, during his unveiling, Enrique promised to form the best possible team. Having already worked with Neymar, the two will be able to help each other perfectly at the French club. According to Di Marzio, “Luis Enrique is the perfect manager for Neymar and he knows that, so I think he will stay at Paris Saint-Germain. Luis Enrique knows how Neymar is and they both have Barcelona in their heart. They have a very good relationship and that could continue at Paris Saint-Germain.”
He added, “I think that Luis Enrique and Paris Saint-Germain could be the last dance for Neymar because they will play in a very attacking way, which will be beneficial for Neymar. Neymar is perfect for Luis Enrique and the other way around as well. They will try to make it work and will probably give it one year to see how it turns out.” It’s still unknown whether Neymar is leaving. However, following a four-month recovery from his knee surgery, he has come back to training with PSG.
