FIFA to pay Al Hilal for Neymar’s injury
Neymar Jr transferred from PSG to Al-Hilal in August and was paid almost £2.5 million per week. From 28 days to a year, FIFA must pay an injured player’s wage, up to a maximum of £6.5 million.
That amount, meanwhile, pales in comparison to Neymar’s total compensation from the Saudi Pro League’s top teams. With Al-Hilal, the legendary ex-Barcelona player could earn up to £314 million over the course of two years.
The FIFA Club Protection Programme (CPP), is an insurance policy offered by world football’s governing body. This pays a player’s wage for up to a year, with a maximum payout of £6.5 million, in the event of an injury sustained while on international duty. This implies that Al-Hilal will get that maximum amount from the policy.
When Neymar stumbled during Brazil’s shocking defeat, he sustained his latest injury. Furthermore, Al-Hilal has all but given up on making a comeback this term.
Their statement said, ‘The medical tests Neymar underwent confirmed the Anterior Cruciate Ligament and Meniscus tear injury in his knee. He will be going through surgery and then a treatment program that will be determined later. Return stronger Neymar.’
