Neymar has sparked speculation about a potential transfer to Inter Miami by suggesting that Lionel Messi is eager for him to join the MLS club. Currently playing for Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League, the 32-year-old forward moved from Paris Saint-Germain last summer in a deal reportedly worth €90 million under Jorge Jesus’ management.
The 36-year-old Messi seems to be advocating for Neymar’s move to DRV PNK Stadium, according to Neymar’s statement as quoted by Republic. Inter Miami, co-owned by David Beckham, has already assembled a strong contingent of Barcelona legends, including Messi, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and Luis Suarez.
“I have spoken with Messi, he said that he wants me to come to Inter Miami,” said Neymar.
However, Neymar has been sidelined for most of his debut season with Al-Hilal due to a torn cruciate ligament suffered in October. Despite this setback, he has managed five appearances across various competitions, contributing one goal and three assists.
Neymar’s departure from PSG coincided with Lionel Messi’s exit from the Parc des Princes, with the latter opting to sign with Inter Miami after his contract expired. Neymar’s future with Al-Hilal is uncertain due to his injury, with the Saudi club removing him from their squad for the current season to accommodate January signing Renan Lodi.
