Arsenal and Nottingham Forest started their Premier League season today. The season opener of Mikel Arteta’s side was set to be played on time at Emirates but it faced a 30 minutes delay in the start.
Arsenal was supposed to host Nottingham Forest at Emirates on standard UK time at 12:30 PM but it started at 1 PM due to new ticket system failure.
The new digital ticketing system went down at the turnstiles. A big number of supporters were standing outside the Emirates and they were waiting to come inside to watch the game. Reports claimed that there were up to 35,000 fans outside the ground.

The match started at 1PM local time and the club confirmed it by sharing a tweet which reads: “This afternoon’s game with Nottingham Forest will now kick off at 1pm (UK), due to a delay at the turnstiles.”
Fans also reacted on Twitter and shared the problems faced by the fans before the game. One Tweeted: “People having trouble with the digital pass.” Someone said, “This was the most predictable thing in the history of predictions.” A fan took it as a joke and said, “We jumped the early kick-off curse😂.”

Arsenal players also appeared in the wrong kit after a major manufacturing error. They were forced to wear a kit that has reportedly stopped being sold.
Arsenal defeated Nottingham Forest 2-1, courtesy of Nketiah and Saka’s strikes. Arsenal were two goals ahead after the end of the first half. Forest had no answer against the tight defence of Arsenal. Awoniyi scored a consolation goal for the visitors to avoid conceding the clean sheet.
