Mourinho in Saudi Pro League? Roma manager makes desire to join Cristiano Ronaldo

Earlier in the summer, Mourinho had good offers from Saudi Arabia. He denied the offers and wanted to stay with the Serie A club for one more season. His contract with the club is expiring next year.

Saudi Pro League’s influence has been crazy in the last few months. Not just players, but also European managers are trying to make a move to Saudi. Roma manager, Jose Mourinho shows his desire to join the Saudi Pro League in 2024. The Portuguese have won major trophies as manager in Europe.

Earlier in the summer, Mourinho had good offers from Saudi Arabia. He denied the offers and wanted to stay with the Serie A club for one more season. Mourinho now said that he has a desire to manage a club in the Gulf country. He joined the board of directors of Mahd Academy in July. This institute works to find and nourish emerging talents from the country. The Portuguese said in an interview with MBC Egypt TV channel, “I will go to Saudi Arabia in some free time, but I am convinced that I will work there. I don’t know when, but I am pretty sure of it. Doors are always open for me in Saudi Arabia. I want to feel the development there.”

The former Premier League boss admits that the Saudi Pro League has changed the narrative since Ronaldo’s move to the Pro League last winter. Players joined the Saudi clubs in big numbers in the previous summer window. He mentioned Ronaldo and added on it, “Cristiano was the first to go there and give a different perspective immediately. The players thought at first that it was a one-man show but they realised in the summer that everything was really changing.

He added, “Many players, not just at the last period of their careers, but also some players at the best years of their careers, are coming because the competition is real, not just at domestic League, but also the AFC Champions League is very interesting,”

Jose Mourinho will make his focus on the current season. He is optimistic to deliver the best this season in Italy. The Serie A giants made a poor start to the 2023/24 season claiming the 13th spot in 7 matches. They recently beat Servette in the Europa League 4-0. He spoke about this job at AS Roma, “I am committed to my work with Roma and I want to give everything to the club until the last day.”
