Dominik Szoboszlai reveals what Mohamed Salah has decided about Liverpool future

Saudi Pro League has till Thursday to close their deal and Salah will not make the move in the meantime.

Misery for Liverpool continues as Saudi’s Al Ittihad are trying to make a move on the Reds ace Mohamed Salah. There have been numerous rumours about whether Salah will remain in England or leave. Saudi Pro League’s transfer window is set to remain open till Thursday. Hence, the situation will remain comfortable till then. However, Salah’s new teammate Dominik Szoboszlai came out to say that Salah said that he would be staying with Liverpool. Coach Jurgen Klopp then reflected on Szoboszlai’s words.

Following Liverpool’s 3-0 easy win against Aston Villa, the Reds’ new signing Dominik Szoboszlai updated on Mohamed Salah’s situation. The world kept their eye on whether Salah would choose the money like several other players did during this transfer window. However, Szoboszlai assured that Salah told his teammates that he would not be leaving. He said, “You know it is football, everyone is talking. We are really happy that he has stayed. We are of course speaking between each other but he [Salah] wants to stay.”

He added, “He wants to be here and be with us, and he will stay. We are really happy – we need people in the team like him.” A number of Liverpool players including Fabinho, Roberto Firmino, Jota, and captain Jordan Henderson left Liverpool to join Saudi clubs only this transfer window. Saudi Pro League clubs will keep terrorising the Reds at least till Thursday when their transfer window closes. However, it seems coach Jurgen Klopp is now relaxed about the matter as well.

Klopp was asked whether the club will keep their stance on not selling Salah, no matter how big of a bid they receive in the coming few days. Klopp replied, “Yup. Absolutely.” Praising Salah, his commitment, and efforts in their win against Aston Villa, Klopp said, “I never had any doubt about his commitment to this club. You can’t imagine how much fuss the world has made but how calm we are with it. He is our player and wants to play here.”

Updating on Salah’s current situation he said, “He didn’t tell me (he wants to stay) but he didn’t have to. He speaks with his training and performances and behaviour. We had meetings this week, and the meetings were not about what we did in the past, it was about what we will do in the future. Mo was with the players’ (leadership) committee and had his moments where he was talking and it was nothing like ‘by the way, this is only until next week’ or whatever.”

Acknowledging Dominik’s update on Salah’s stance on the matter, coach Klopp said, “He is completely here and if Dom said [he’s told players he wants to stay], fine. Mo doesn’t have to come into my office and tell me ‘by the way, boss… [I’m not going]’. For me it wasn’t a subject for one second, to be honest, besides the questions from the outside.” Salah looks to be happily involved in Liverpool’s matches even in the midst of all rumours of his departure.
