MMA Fans Thrilled To See Khamzat Chimaev Unite With Zlatan Ibrahimovic: UFC News: Khamzat Chimaev would be the embodiment of the moment if there was a UFC fighter introduction comparable to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s infamous door smash on season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter. In the summer of 2020, Chimaev outperformed every opponent to generate attention and almost instant stardom. Under the Swedish Wrestling Federation, “Borz” is a freestyle wrestling machine that has won six world championships.

Chimaev will probably compete next in the 185-pound middleweight division. There isn’t a UFC bout currently scheduled for Chimaev. It appeared that Paulo Costa or Kamaru Usman will be his next opponent in 2023. Chimaev’s comeback was complicated by the UFC’s announcement in mid-May that Costa would face a different foe in July.
Unless Costa can make a speedy turnaround and face Chimaev in the fourth quarter of 2023, the battle with Usman seems to be Chimaev’s most likely next opponent. However, there is no certainty that this will be the case.
Chimaev established himself as a welterweight fighter early on in the UFC, earning the title of a top-five contender. Although Chimaev made his octagon debut at middleweight, all indications are that he will fight the majority of his career at 185 pounds. Only time will tell.
Khamzat shared a picture posing with the Swedish football player Zlatan Ibrahimovic in his recent Instagram post, before making his return to the UFC. Both the athletes can be seen holding Ibrahimovic’s jersey. Which is a signed t-shirt to Khamzat by the legend himself.
Fans have shown immense love to the post as they commented,” No fc**** way” and comments like “squad goals”.

It’s possible that Chimaev won’t make his eagerly anticipated UFC return until the Oct. 21, 2023, UFC 294 event in Abu Dhabi. The top-ranked middleweight contender will be whoever is standing opposite Chimaev.
Early in 2023, UFC President Dana White announced that the winner of the fight between Robert Whittaker and Dricus du Plessis would face middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. It was thought that Costa, a former championship contender, would be the one to welcome Chimaev back to the 185-pound division.
The weight issues put off Chimaev’s hopes of competing for the title. If everything had gone according to plan, Chimaev would have been eligible for a fight with welterweight champion Leon Edwards if he had destroyed Diaz rather than Holland. Instead, Colby Covington vs. Edwards was chosen by the UFC.
