The first half was complete domination by BFC and did not let MCFC score a single goal. The story continued in the second half with the only difference being that not a single goal was scored. Mumbai City did create a few opportunities in the second half but couldn’t get on the board. It was a brilliant game for Bengaluru and they deserved this win. Well, this Hero ISL season is proving to be one to remember. MCFC started in fine fashion as they attacked right from the word go. This however lasted a mere 5 minutes as after that BFC composed themselves. BFC then took the bull by its horns and it was Danish in the 8th minute, who drilled home from the edge of the box to put his side ahead. MCFC tried to create more chances but they kept on coming out second best. Roshan has certainly been the standout so far in this match for BFC and he wreaked havoc on that right flank. In the 23rd minute, Roshan whipped in a lovely ball with his left boot and Prince Ibarra doubled BFC’s advantage. The MCFC keeper, Phurba Lachenpa was kept on his toes and forced into a couple of fantastic saves. Lachenpa was called into action late in added time and came out on top but from the resulting corner, he was left helpless. The man who is having a dream game, Roshan, whipped in a dangerous corner and Prince Ibara doubled his tally for the day, making it 3-0. The defending champions have been second best by a long shot in the first half.

The Islanders were held by SC East Bengal to a 0-0 draw in their last encounter stretching it to a four game winless run. Des Buckingham’s men started the season in brilliant fashion with a 3-0 defeat against FC followed by 5-1 dribbling of last season’s finalists ATK Mohun Bagan. But then losses against Hyderabad FC, Kerala Blasters and Odisha FC held them back a little. Now they need a win against Bengaluru FC to get back to the top of the ISL points table.
