After his criminal charges were dropped, the striker could face a TV interview and will have to attend therapy for his call-up into Erik Ten Hag’s squad. Greenwood has registered 22 Premier League goals in two and a half seasons before being suspended by the Manchester club. His last appearance for the club came back in January 2022.
After the charges were dropped, Greenwood’s lawyers stated on his behalf: “I am relieved this matter is now over and I would like to thank my family, loved ones and friends for their support. There will be no further comment at this time.”
The 21-year-old striker is suspended by the Red Devils after the charges of attempted rape, assault, and coercive behaviour. He is under contract with the Red devils until 2025, receiving his £75,000 per week wages in full. Greenwood’s last appearance in the United shirt was against a 1-0 win against West Ham United in January 2022.

United are declining to comment further while their internal review is ongoing as senior executives, including the club’s legal counsel, take part. It is understood there has been no active contact with broadcasters over a possible interview, as views of the fans groups, sponsors and women’s team will be considered in order to move ahead. Counseling and therapy are being considered for the footballer.
However, it’s intriguing to see how a club like Manchester United, the biggest club in English football trying to portray Greenwood as a young man who made mistakes and is regretful. The charges against him were criminal charges of extremity, but since the charges are dropped the striker sees an opportunity for his return. However, the return of Mason Greenwood could raise many questions and can fold to bring bad fame to Manchester United.
