  • Mason Greenwood was arrested for the first time in January 2022, on charges of assault, rape, controlling and coercive behavior
  • Granted bail in February 2022 on specific grounds
  • Arrested once again on October 15 for failing to comply with bail terms after complaints that he tried to contact the victim, Harriet Robson
  • Granted bail on October 19 on specific grounds – not to contact witnesses, including the complainant, and to reside at an address in Bowdon

WHEN and WHY was Mason Greenwood ARRESTED? –

Mason Greenwood was granted bail earlier this year in February but was arrested last week on October 15 for failing to comply with his bail terms. The Greater Manchester Police apprehended the footballer for questioning after they found that he tried to contact the victim, Harriet Robson, thereby breaching his bail terms. Following his arrest, October 17 was fixed as the date for his first appearance at the Greater Manchester Magistrates’ Court.

On the 17th, Mason Greenwood appeared in court to confirm his name, date of birth, and address. Proceedings were then adjourned by District Judge Mark Hadfield, who said a decision would be made on Greenwood’s bail arrangements later.

The hearing for the same has taken place today and the young forward has been granted bail.

Mason Greenwood still remains SUSPENDED by Manchester United –

Despite being granted bail, Mason Greenwood still remains suspended by Man United. Earlier this year, after assault charges were brought against the player, the club was quick to suspend the player. After his arrest last week, the club released a statement, which read: “Manchester United notes that criminal charges have been brought against Mason Greenwood by the Crown Prosecution Service. He remains suspended by the club, pending the outcome of the judicial process.”
