Intercontinental Cup 2023: The Indian Football Team stated on Wednesday that striker Manvir Singh and custodian Vishal Kaith will not be attending the  Indian Football Team national camp in Bhubaneswar. To compete in the next Hero Intercontinental Cup Trophy, Sunil Chhetri and company have arrived in Bhubaneshwar. Igor Stimac’s men were most recently in action, winning the Hero Tri-Nation Tournament after defeating Kyrgyzstan 2-0 in the final.Sunil Chhetri and Sandesh Jhingan scored the game-winning goals for the Blue Tigers. Earlier in the competition, they defeated Myanmar 1-0 thanks to Anirudh Thapa’s goal.

It will be the Indian national senior men’s team’s first competitive competition since the Hero Tri Nation Cup in Imphal, Manipur. The All India Football Federation established the Intercontinental Cup in 2018 with the objective of staging the competition in India.The four-team Hero Intercontinental Cup will be contested during the FIFA International Window from June 9 to June 18, with hosts India playing with Lebanon, Mongolia, and Vanuatu.

The SAFF Championship will take place after the Intercontinental Cup. The 14th SAFF Men’s Championship will be place in Bangalore, India, from June 21st to July 3rd, 2023. India is in Group A of the competition, along with Kuwait, Nepal, and archrival Pakistan. On June 21st, India will resume its battle against Pakistan.

India will compete in Group B of the AFC Asian Cup 2023 in Qatar, with Australia, Syria, and Uzbekistan. Sunil Chhetri and his teammates, led by Igor Stimac, will kick off their campaign against Australia on January 13th, followed by matches against Syria and Uzbekistan.
