Manchester United transfer overhaul incoming! Jim Ratcliffe demands answers

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is planning a transfer overhaul at Manchester United as his stake at club is almost confirmed

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is curious as to how Manchester United wasted £1.4 billion on transfers. On Monday, Ratcliffe is expected to complete his £1.3 billion buy-in for a 25% ownership in the Red Devils.

As he assumes leadership of United’s football operations, the 71-year-old British billionaire is also preparing a significant revamp of the team’s player scouting and acquisition network.

Transfer overhaul incoming at Manchester United

Adding onto all the things Sir Jim Ratcliffe is planning to sack David Harrison, the director of football operations, John Murtough, and CEO Richard Arnold as per Daily Mail. This is a result of managing a string of costly acquisitions after outgoing CEO Ed Woodward left.

Manchester United has spent an astounding £1.4 billion on players in the ten years after Sir Alex Ferguson retired. Lifelong-fan Ratcliffe is shocked so much has been spent in exchange for so little success.

United’s string of flops in transfer market

Old Trafford chiefs have lost millions on a number of flops throughout the years. Paul Pogba was bought at a club record £89 million. Additionally, Antony, Romelu Lukaku, Jadon Sancho, and Angel Di Maria, who are valued at £85.5 million, £75 million, £73 million, £44.5 million, and £40 million, are among the players.

However, since Fergie won 28 major trophies during his tenure, United has only won one FA Cup, two League Cups, and a Europa League title. They have not won the Premier League since 2013.

Since taking over, Erik ten Hag has spent £374 million on upfront fees. Ratcliffe acknowledges that the Dutchman is well-received, though, given his third-place league performance and Carabao Cup triumph from the previous campaign.

Ratcliffe and Joel Glazer, Manchester United’s co-chairman, have spoken about the football team’s organization. The self-made Ineos chemicals billionaire will focus on this side of the operation and his buy-in is expected to spark a series of new appointments.

Ratcliffe not considering sacking Erik Ten Hag

Alan Nixon has stated that Sir Jim Ratcliffe will begin his role as Manchester United’s head of football operations on Monday. It is anticipated that his 25% ownership in the team will shortly be verified.

Despite Erik Ten Hag’s recent bad performance, Alan Nixon claims that Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s new team is not considering firing him. On the other hand, a revamp of Manchester United’s hiring is anticipated.

It’s possible that the Red Devils will appoint longtime partner Sir Dave Brailsford as their next director of football. There has been a lot of talk regarding the next steps for the Red Devils. But with a club that has a lot of issues ongoing, it will be interesting to see how Sir Jim Ratcliffe deals with them. For the Manchester United fans, there is definitely a reason to be optimistic.
