Ratcliffe, 70, who has formally expressed his interest, is worth £15 billion. He previously made a last-ditch bid for Chelsea. He also owns Nice of France, Lausanne of Switzerland, and a third of F1 team Mercedes.

Man United’s opening offers might be worth at least £4 billion. More money might be required, though, as the Glazers might try to put off the sale in light of the team’s performance since Ten Hag joined them. They think the club’s value may increase soon if they continue to observe an improvement in performance.
Given that Old Trafford needs to be renovated, any potential new chiefs will require a large sum of money. The Glazers might also leave behind £500 million in debt, according to the Mirror, amid worries that the cost of purchasing United might deter wealthy bidders. Co-owner Avram Glazer reportedly travelled to Qatar to have casual talks in an effort to entice new investors.
