According to reports, Manchester United is looking for a new left-back before the deadline on Friday and has Marc Cucurella, Marcos Alonso, and Sergio Reguilon on their list. Manchester United’s left-back shortlist
In Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday, Diogo Dalot struggled to step in as a temporary replacement, and Erik ten Hag would not want the club’s aspirations to be harmed by a lack of cover. According to The Telegraph, United has formally inquired about borrowing Marc Cucurella from Chelsea.
Ben Chilwell is healthy and doing well, and Cucurella has lost his spot with the Blues as a result. Cucurella was acquired from Brighton for £60 million last summer. But whether those expectations were reasonable or not, he has not lived up to them.
He has yet to play in the Premier League this season, although Chilwell’s back-up, Ian Maatsen, has also made an impression.
Manchester United is also thought to have made contact with Alonso, Barcelona had trouble signing in La Liga due to their financial difficulties but has since done. Alonso, who just joined Barca last summer, is said to be eager to stay.
Manchester United interested in Reguilon
Manchester United have an interest in Spurs player Riley. He was on loan to Atletico Madrid during the previous season. The 26-year-old has not played for Tottenham in over a year. He spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid, though injuries restricted him to just 11 appearances in La Liga.
Although he did participate fully in preseason with Spurs over the summer, he does not seem to be in Ange Postecoglou’s current plans. He looks to have overcome his fitness difficulties.

Real Sociedad and Spurs had been in discussions over a loan, but those discussions fell through when the Spanish team decided to move for Kieran Tierney from Arsenal. Spurs are eager to sell Reguilon.
Erik Ten Hag on their LB situation
Manchester United’s Erik Ten Hag spoke on their search for a left-back. He said, ‘It can be [that United sign a left-back]. I think we always have to anticipate on situations.’
He continued, ‘If there are opportunities then yes, but it has to be the right player otherwise we have to deal with the current squad. We went through the scenarios before the season and if it happened, we have the solution.’
