The long-lasting Jadon Sancho saga with Premier League club Manchester United had a temporary halt on Thursday when Sancho rejoined his previous club Borussia Dortmund on loan for the rest of the season. Sancho was left on the sidelines for several months in England after the winger had a public spat with Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag.

After being dropped from the squad for the 3-1 loss at Arsenal in September last year, Sancho wrote on social media that he was being made a “scapegoat” at the club. Since then, he has not featured for the club and has had to train separately from the first-team squad.
Even before the controversy, Sancho failed to live up to his hefty price tag after arriving to Manchester from Germany. He scored only 12 times in 82 games and was unable to establish himself as a regular starter.
The transfer certainly came as relief for Sancho, as was evident from his statement. Sancho, who has not played competitive footballing in almost four months, said, “When I walked into the dressing room today, it felt like coming home. I’ve never lost contact with the people in charge”.
“I can’t wait to see my teammates again, play football with a smile on my face, assist and score goals and help BVB,” he added.
