Manchester United in trouble! Staff leaving over Greenwood, Antony issues

Manchester United staff unhappy with how Mason Greenwood and Antony issues have been dealt with, as some employees look to leave club

As personnel apparently leave the club, Manchester United stars are being taught how to develop “healthier relationships and behaviours.” Former striker Mason Greenwood’s case taught the club a lot, according to CEO Richard Arnold. Mr Arnold stated that United are aiming to keep better relationships and behaviours at the forefront of their players’ minds.

Wake-up call for Manchester United amid issues

Greenwood, 22, was detained in October of last year, but the Crown Prosecution Service dropped all charges in February. Getafe in La Liga offered the striker, who has denied any wrongdoing, a way back into the game.

Meanwhile, Brazil’s Antony has pledged to vindicate his name after assault allegations were brought against him in shocking revelations. Antony has categorically refuted all charges levelled against him and has agreed to meet with police in Manchester for interrogation. Manchester United have allowed him to get back to playing in the team.

In June, he was also willingly interviewed by Brazilian detectives and was allowed to leave for the United Kingdom after collaborating with Sao Paulo police. Antony has never been arrested or charged in the United Kingdom or Brazil.

According to MailOnline, some Manchester United employees have begun the process of looking for other jobs. Last month, United CEO Richard Arnold presided over an all-staff meeting in which he was extensively interrogated about the club’s handling of problems. Those who went were left with little doubt about the amount of unhappiness among personnel.

This is supposedly due to dissatisfaction with how Manchester United handled the incidents. However, insiders claim that there has been no increase in personnel departures as a result of the Greenwood and Antony sagas.

United taking some effort to reverse damage

Manchester United employs over 1,000 workers and has a high turnover rate. Teresa Parker, Women’s Aid’s head of media, stated that she has shared material about domestic abuse with United and that the club has listened to criticism from survivors. She said: “We welcome these conversations.”

Previously, Antony stated that he “trusts ongoing police investigations” to uncover the “truth about my innocence.” Last month, the star gave a sad interview in which he refuted the claims levelled against him and declared that he is not concerned about his future with Manchester United.

In addition to Greenwood and Antony, staff are said to have questioned Arnold about structural inequities at Manchester United. It comes as Greenwood spoke out after scoring his first professional goal for nearly two years following his loan move to Getafe.

The English striker, 22, scored to send Spanish side Getafe 2-1 up at Celta Vigo in La Liga on Sunday. He was sent on loan by Manchester United to Spain. It will be interesting to see what the club does when the loan ends.
