Manchester United-East Bengal Deal: Man United deny East Bengal rumours
According to a report from New9live, Manchester United have denied bidding for the ISL club East Bengal with a statement that followed: “There is no basis to the speculation that we are bidding for the football club in the ISL.”
Thee BCCI President officially confirmed the rumours of a possible deal which would see Manchester United come in as an owner for the ISL club East Bengal.
“Yes, we have spoken to them and others. It will take 10-12 more days. Not investors, they will come as an owner. It takes some time. First, let it reach a stage then we will make a comment. I will speak only after there’s a concrete development,” Sourav Ganguly stated, as per quotes in PTI.

One official denied any such links by claiming “It is hoax news. There is no truth to it.” Meanwhile, another top East Bengal official claimed to be unaware about the discussions by saying “I don’t know anything about the links with Manchester United.”

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday, announced Kolkata-based multinational company Emami Group as the new investor for Indian Super League (ISL) outfit East Bengal.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has once again helped in finding an investor for the Bengal side.
Speaking about the new tie-up, CM Mamata Banerjee stated, “Both sides came to me for tea today. Both sides have agreed. As a result, the problem of East Bengal playing in the ISL will be solved.”
