As they welcome Chelsea this weekend with a nearly perfect home record this season, they will be extra determined to come away with an easy win. After third-placed Newcastle United dropped the ball as they drew 0-0 against Leicester City, Manchester United now have the perfect opportunity to get ahead of them. Manchester United are sitting in 4th position in the Premier League table with 69 points. Man United have played one less game than Newcastle United who are sitting one place above them leading by only a single point. Hence, if they win this match against Chelsea, they will have sealed their place in the Champions League next year.
Manchester United are coming back to Old Trafford from a 0-1 win against Bournemouth. Their form at home has been impeccable all season and against a struggling Chelsea, they will have the winning odds in their favour. Casemiro came back on the pitch after serving of 4-game ban a few weeks ago. Since he has come back, his form has been subdued. However, it was his goal in the ninth minute into the match against Bournemouth which won the match for Man United.
Man United’s list of long-term injured players who have been ruled out for the rest of the season includes Lisandro Martinez and Thomas Heaton are suffering from ankle issues while Marcel Sabitzer and Phil Jones are all suffering from knee injuries. The club recently announced that Phil Jones will be leaving after spending 12 years of his career at Man United. As he is yet to recover from his injury, fans might have seen the last of Phil Jones in a Man United shirt.

Donny van de Beek has recovered from his long-term knee injury very recently. He has been seen training with the first team. However, he probably will not be called up in the starting lineup against Chelsea. The main focus remains to be Marcus Rashford. He recovered from his injury last week but due to a bug, he could not play against Bournemouth. He has been training again and coach Erik Ten Hag will certainly hope that their top scorer will be available for this fixture.
If Rashford is fully fit to play, then Anthony Martial will have to make way for him. Hence, the coach could line up the same attack line with just one change as Rashford leading the attack from the front with Sancho, Fernandez, and Antony just behind him. Casemiro and Eriksen will continue to hold the fort from the midfield. Whereas, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Lindelof, and Shaw will form the defense line. With a 17-match clean sheet record this season, ace David de Gea will be manning the bars.
Manchester United Predicted XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Lindelof, Shaw; Casemiro, Eriksen; Antony, Fernandes, Sancho; Rashford
