Man United vs Chelsea: Chelsea’s Nightmare seems to be continuing as their next match is against an in-form Manchester United. Then they will welcome Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge for the last match of the season. As injuries continue to haunt them, coach Frank Lampard will still be looking for at least two wins before the season ends. Even if they win both of these matches, they will still end up in the 11th position in the league table. Follow Premier League LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.

As the new owners arrived at Stamford Bridge at the start of the season, it brought hope for the Chelsea fans. However, their season has gone horribly wrong and now they are sitting in the 12th position in the league table. Their next to matches will be against Manchester United on the road and Newcastle United at home. Plagued with injuries, Chelsea have very few odds stacked in their favour. However, even if they manage to win both of these matches, they will still end their season at the bottom half of the table.

Chelsea have gone through three coaches this season alone. As of now, current manager Frank Lampard has managed a total of 9 matches and has lost 7 of them. After Arsenal’s slip-up, Manchester City won the Premier League title for the 3rd consecutive season. Hence, for the match against Chelsea coach Pep Guardiola fielded his second team. Chelsea still couldn’t manage to come away with a win. If history repeats and Chelsea lose both of their next matches, they can end the season as low as 14th position in the table.

As the situation stands now, Chelsea will be travelling to Old Trafford with 10 players back home trying to recover from their injuries. This injury list includes some of their key players who have been ruled out for the rest of the season. The injured players for Chelsea are Armando Broja, Reece James, N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount, Marc Cucurella, Ben Chilwell, Mateo Kovacic, Marcus Bettinelli, and Benoit Badiashile. Badiashile sustained a terrific groin injury during a training session last week. He could be out for at least a few months.

Mateo Kovacic could be heading for some playing time as his recovery process is going well. However, Coach Lampard will probably take a late diffusion on the matter. Kalidou Koulibaly recovered from his thigh issue and featured in their match against Man City as a substitute as he came on in the final 10 minutes. The coach could probably start him in this fixture. Coach Lampard expressed some satisfaction from his side’s play against Man City as he said he saw some progress.

The coach probably won’t make too many changes to his starting lineup from the last match. However, he will have a lot of options to choose from with Carney Chukwuemeka pushing for a start and recent recruits Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk. Gallagher, Havertz, and Sterling could end up leading the attack line. While Azpilicueta, Fernandez, Loftus-Cheek, and Hall could help them from the midfield. With Kepa below the goalpost, Chalobah, Silva, and Fofana could be in charge of the defense.

Chelsea Predicted XI: Kepa; Chalobah, Silva, Fofana; Azpilicueta, Fernandez, Loftus-Cheek, Hall; Gallagher; Havertz, Sterling
