Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a lifelong United fan has been linked with an attempt to buy should Glazers decide to sell eventually. Despite the unrest, the possibility of a sale seems to have been thrown out of the window now. Although the Glazers stated that they would be open to listening to offers above £9 billion.
That’s a pretty unlikely scenario given the fact that the club is valued under £3 billion at present. To put it more clearly, potential buyer Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s current estimated net worth is around £9.2 billion. That pretty much gives us a clear scenario that the Glazers have no intention to sell Manchester United.
“Manchester United is owned by the Glazer family, whom I have met. I met Joel and Avram, and they are the nicest people. They are proper gentlemen, and they don’t want to sell it (United). It is owned by the six children of the father and they don’t want to sell,” Ratcliffe told reporters.
Manchester United at present is completely owned by the Glazers family under the name of Manchester United PLC with Joel and Avram Glazer as co-chairmen. The Red Devils haven’t won the Premier League since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013 and last won silverware in 2017.
