Man United gets boost ahead of UCL showdown! Varane, Mount back in training

Bayern Munich will host Man United at Allianz Arena on Wednesday night. Ahead of this game, Man United faces a boost as Varane and Mount is back to training.

Champions League 2023/24: Manchester United is back in Europe’s biggest competition. Erik ten Hag’s side will take on Bayern Munich in their opening game of the UEFA Champions League. Ahead of the big game, Man United get a big boost as their two big players, Raphael Varane and Mason Mount have returned to training. Both were injured and out of initial games in the Premier League.

Man United’s official statement confirmed that Raphael Varane and Mason Mount took part in the club’s final training session. The Red Devils had their final training session at Carrington before their flight to Germany. It’s not confirmed that the duo will be available for the selection in first XI. Still, it’s a big boost for Man United who are struggling with injury issues.

Insidesport

Mason Mount last played for Man United on August 19 against Tottenham. He made a summer move from Chelsea in a £60 million. He suffered a hamstring injury at Tottenham last month. On the other hand, Varane faced an injury during Man United’s game against Nottingham Forest. After seeing their injury issues, Man United didn’t expect a speedy recovery but they are back to training.

Man United are already without the services of Luke Shaw, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Man United’s loan signing from Fiorentina, Sofyan Amrabat is also sidelined due to injury. The Morocco international trained away from the squad on Tuesday. He hasn’t recovered yet and he was withdrawn from Morocco’s national squad. Erik ten Hag has to deal with injury issues ahead of a crucial tie against Bayern Munich.

Man United are going through a difficult phase this season. Erik ten Hag’s men have won only two games out of five in the Premier League and moved into the bottom half of the table. The Red Devils will be aiming to come back from a poor start in the 2023/24 season. They recently lost to Brighton 3-1 at Old Trafford. Bayern Munich will host the Premier League giants at Allianz Arena on Wednesday night. Both clubs are placed along with Copenhagen and Galatasaray.
