India Football Team head coach Manolo Marquez has announced his 26-member probable squad for the upcoming Inter Continental Cup. Among the players, there are 5 major absentees including the likes of Vishal Kaith, Brandon Fernandes and others. India begin their preparatory camp from 31st August at Hyderabad.
“We are very excited about our first preparatory camp and I know it will be the same for the players. We face two different teams and the rankings are not very important,” Manolo Marquez said.
“We need to work all together in the same direction to find the correct group of players and their predisposition will be very good, something I am completely sure about. I know all of us are in pre-season with nice challenges in front of us. Is a big honour to wear the jersey of the National Team and we need to show it for all our fans,” Marquez added.

Major Players Missing
A total of 5 players have missed out on the new squad announcement. These include important players like Brandon Fernandes and Vishal Kaith. The exclusion of these key players are crucial for India’s gameplan in the upcoming tournament.
On the other hand, Kiyan Nassiri Giri has received has maiden call-up for the Indian Football Team. Vishal Kaith has been snubbed while East Bengal’s Prabhsukhan Singh Gill gets his chance in the team. In terms of defense, Mohun Bagan’s Ashish Rai has received a call-up yet again.
Injured Sandesh Jhingan continues to miss out while East Bengal’s Lalchungnunga misses out. Chinglensana Singh Konsham receives a callup after his last snub.
In the midfield, Brandon Fernandes misses out while in the forward lineup, Rahim Ali misses out. David Lalhlansanga too misses out on a place in the team.
