Mr Rubiales has been notified of the terms of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee’s decision today. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, he has ten days in which to request a motivated decision, which, if requested, would subsequently be published on legal.fifa.com. The kiss during the presentation stirred a massive controversy following which he was relieved from his post as the President of the Spanish Federation. The infamous incident took place during the presentation ceremony of the Women’s World Cup final between Spain vs England.

Following the incident, the player Jenni Hermoso claimed she was left ‘vulnerable and a victim of aggression’. She further went on to claim that it was an ‘impulsive act, sexist, out of place and without any type of consent from my part.’ On the contrary, claimed the kiss was consensual and added, “I have faith in the truth and I will do everything in my power so that it prevails.”
