Following the tests, he will be signing the contract by Thursday. He was an important player for the Bayern Munich team since he came to Germany in 2019. PSG have secured the signing of the talented Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez. As per reports, they are bringing in the player on a €48-50 million 3-year deal. Several PSG fans, especially their Ultras group spoke against the player’s arrival several times. However, PSG were still trying to get the French player for a few months now. Reportedly, Hernandez has already reached France for his medical tests with PSG. He will have the tests done and will also complete his signing with them by Thursday.
Hernandez was a key part of Bayern Munich’s team that won the recent Champions League. He also won four Bundesliga titles with them. However, with time, his playing time lessened and he started losing his place with the Bayern Chiefs. Last season, in the first half of the season, he featured in 11 matches in total and scored only once, and assisted another time. He sustained an ending injury in France’s first match against Australia in the 2022 World Cup. It caused him to stay sidelined for the rest of the season.
As PSG were pursuing him, Hernandez wanted a move away from the German club as well. However, PSG fans, especially their Ultras group were not happy and they did not hesitate to make that clear. A leader of the group, Romain Mabille took to social media a few days ago to let the player know that he was not wanted at PSG. The message further said that the fans will ‘let him know’ of that fact. Fans have previously been hostile towards Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr as well.

However, this time, their problem lies in the fact that Hernandez was born in Marseille. Additionally, his father, Jean-Francois also played for Marseille between 1995-1997. However, that is about the extent of the defender’s relationship with Marseille. When he was only 4 years old, he moved to Spain and lived there before moving to Germany. Hernandez began his career at Atletico Madrid and stayed there till 2019 when he joined Bayern Munich. The very first French club he plays for is going to PSG.
However, PSG fans are still not trusting the player so soon. Bayern are waiting to cut their losses though. They are ready to bring in Kim Min-Jae as Hernandez’s replacement. Both Manchester United and Manchester City were also trying to sign the player, but Bayern came out as the winner in this race. Reportedly, Bayern have reached the final stages of transfer talks with Napoli regarding the player. They are waiting for PSG to finalise the deal for Hernandez to announce their new signing.
