Ronaldo confirmed via a statement on Monday evening that his infant son had passed away during childbirth.
And now the Old Trafford side have confirmed that the Ballon d’Or winner will not play in their Premier League game against Liverpool this evening to spend time with his family.
United said in their own statement: “Family is more important than everything. Ronaldo is supporting his loved ones at this immensely difficult time.
“As such, we confirm he will not feature in the match against Liverpool at Anfield and we underline the family’s request for privacy.”

The Portugal international, 37, and Rodriguez, 28, were expecting twins. Their baby girl survived but their baby boy could not make it.
Georgina said her baby girl “gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness”. “Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you,” they wrote.
Ronaldo, 37, announced the news on Monday evening, telling fans it is the “greatest pain” he can feel.
