Alcantara & van Dijk miss out as Liverpool hosts in-form Aston Villa at Anfield

Liverpool Team News: Jurgen Klopp needs to understand the error in the previous game. He sticks to his core formation.

Liverpool Team News: Liverpool should be proud of their season so far as they won two games and played one draw which was against the Chelsea side. Newcastle’s game was a big test and they passed it with a stunning comeback victory at St James Park. It was Darwin Nunez who scripted this win with a brace in the final 9 minutes. They are back home to face another tough challenge against Aston Villa.

Liverpool have to be aware of Aston Villa who found momentum after a heavy loss in the season opener. They have beaten Villa 9 times out of the last 11 in the Premier League. Their last defeat came in 2020 when the Toffees hammered Jurgen Klopp’s side 7-2. Villa are on a 4-game winning run and scored 15 goals in the last 4 game with 3 clean sheets. Things might be difficult but Klopp knows the formula to win at Anfield.

Liverpool Team News

Jurgen Klopp needs to understand the error in the previous game and it was an injury-time strike from Nunez that helped the Reds to earn three points. Wataru Endo made his first start for Liverpool and it may continue. However, it will depend on the signing of Ryan Gravenberch who has completed his medical and team management is also pushing to get him ready for this home game.

Jurgen Klopp sticks to his core players and he assured that Szoboszlai and Mac Allister will be his regular players in midfield. Gravenberch will later complete the trip and Endo will be the backup option. Liverpool will go with the same 4-3-3 formation and you will hardly see any change in the formation.

Virgil van Dijk was shown a straight red card in the previous game following a challenge on Alexander Isak. The centre-back will miss this game due to suspension. It means Joe Gomez will be the addition to the starting XI. Liverpool will also miss the services of Thiago Alcantara who is recovering from the injury.

Liverpool XI

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Gomez, Robertson; Szoboszlai, Endo, Mac Allister; Salah, Jota, Diaz
