Liverpool agree on deal with Al Ettifaq for Jordan Henderson

Prior to the match between Karlsruher and Liverpool, the Reds have reached an agreement with Saudi Pro League team Al Ettifaq to transfer Jordan Henderson.

Liverpool have allegedly agreed to transfer Jordan Henderson to Al Ettifaq. The Reds skipper is scheduled to join Steven Gerrard’s Saudi Pro League team.

Henderson has already reached an agreement with the club. The midfielder was also left out of Liverpool’s pre-season opener. The 33-year-old player has been seriously considering reuniting with former teammate Steven Gerrard in Saudi Arabia.

Henderson has been prolonging his decision due to the understanding that leaving Anfield could jeopardize his chances of representing England in the upcoming Euros. He currently has 77 caps for the national team.

Liverpool has been active in the summer transfer market. They have made signings such as Mac Allister and Dominik Sbozoslai to strengthen their midfield for the upcoming season.

The club has also been pursuing Southampton’s Romeo Lavia as a potential replacement for Henderson. It is rumored that Liverpool is prepared to offer £50 million for his services.

Henderson has an impressive record of 492 appearances for Liverpool. He took over the captain’s role after Gerrard’s departure in 2015. Since then, he has led the team to success in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Without Henderson, Liverpool will lose a valuable presence in midfield. They will also miss his strong leadership that has been instrumental for the team over the past eight years.
