Given the uncertainties surrounding his future in Paris, Messi has been strongly associated with a move back to Barcelona. The Blaugrana are interested in having the forward re-signed even though talks between the two parties have not yet begun. The 35-year-old is a subject of interest from the Barcelona hierarchy, though finances could prove to be a barrier.
Barcelona vice-president Rafael Yuste claims the club has already taken steps to re-sign Messi, as he states,’We’ve been in contact with Leo Messi’s camp. Leo knows how much we appreciate him and I’d love for him to come back.’
‘For sure Messi loves Barça and the city, so we hope to find the right conditions to continue his history here.’

The PSG star’s visit to Barcelona to meet his family fueled more rumours of a comeback to the Camp Nou. It appears he also took use of the time to visit with a few friends.
Jijantes filmed Messi leaving a restaurant in the city with former Barcelona teammates Alba and Busquets. The three were joined by their respective partners as well as Pepe Costa, a former fitness instructor for the Catalans. Before departing, the party reportedly had dinner together for three hours.
The Argentine legend was also seen with Busquets and Alba in Catalonia earlier this season. In February, the former teammates and their respective partners had a similar night out. The latest reunion of the trio has left fans talking about the forward’s possible homecoming.
There isn’t anything solid yet, though, and the Argentina captain must concentrate on his Ligue 1 match against Lorient on Sunday for the time being.
