The captain of the Albiceleste is once more making headlines, but this time it’s because of his foray into acting. Lionel Messi is now taking advantage of his final days of vacation in his native Argentina before reporting to Inter Miami. The former Barcelona star made his acting debut on the popular Argentine TV series Los Protectores, and “surprised” his co-stars with his performance.

Argentina’s World Cup champion Messi was invited to make a guest appearance on the well-liked television programme Los Protectores. Three football agents who band together to rescue their careers and stay out of debt are the subject of the popular series, which is shown on Star+.
On Sunday night, the 36-year-old made an appearance in the premiere of season two, in which Messi’s representatives visit him in Paris and present him with a project that supports young athletes.
Messi portrayed himself as the agents visited him in Paris and offered a youth player initiative in the first episode of the second season of the programme. Messi was initially interested, but when the agents barraged him with requests for images and presented him with a fresh business model, his excitement diminished.
Messi voiced his displeasure and said that he had been given incorrect information regarding the meeting’s objectives.
He says: “It seems to me that you are misplaced. They did not tell me this. They said that they were going to tell me about a different project.”

Messi was lauded for his acting abilities and his sincere character by Andres Parra, one of the actors who plays an agent in Los Protectores. Parra was taken aback by Messi’s ability to give a strong performance on the show.
After his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired on June 30, Messi is expected to sign with Inter Miami in July. Before beginning his new voyage with the Major League Soccer (MLS) team, the football legend intends to take a little holiday.
