Ligue 1 LIVE Broadcast – Messi’s PSG Debut: Gerard Pique’s Kosmos Holding has been in the news after the Barcelona star’s firm purchased broadcasting rights of Ligue 1 in Spain. ESPN has confirmed that Kosmos Holding struck a three-year deal for the rights after Lionel Messi’s move to France.

Ligue 1 LIVE Broadcast: Gerard Pique buys Ligue 1 broadcast rights ahead of Lionel Messi’s debut game for PSG
Ligue 1 LIVE Broadcast – Messi’s PSG Debut: Messi’s potential debut will be streamed on Twitch this Sunday. Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos is set to broadcast PSG’s match on the streaming service for free. Apart from him, Telecinco ( Spanish television channel) has also been rumored to have acquired the rights to broadcast the PSG game on their platform this week.
Earlier, the Ligue 1 streaming rights in Spain were held by “Movistar” The previous deal was reported to be worth “less than €2.5 million” every year. The company missed out on renewing the contract before Lionel Messi moved left Barcelona and is now set to feature in French football.
Kosmos Holding has bought the rights to broadcast Ligue 1 matches in Spain while collaborating with Enjoy TV. They are said to be planning on sub-licensing the rights to any potential suitors which would include either an OTT Platform or any television channel.

Kosmos had also bought the rights to broadcast the Copa America final in 2021 which saw Argentina take on Brazil. The final between the two South American heavyweights saw Lionel Messi win his first trophy with Argentina this summer.
Through Kosmos, Gerard Pique has aimed at revamping the coverage of the Davis Cup over the last few years. The company is also reported to hold the rights to broadcast Italy’s Serie B in various countries including Spain. Apart from the production company, the FC Barcelona star is also the owner of a football club named Andorra.
