Young Lamine Yamal appeared to be refused a handshake by Robert Lewandowski during Barcelona’s 2-1 victory over Alaves. This has sparked a lot of speculations between a supposed rift between the two players of FC Barcelona.
The Polish striker did score 2 goals and helped Barca win the game 2-1. But, this moment has been all over social media and a lot of speculation has been building up for the same.
Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski beefing?
Barcelona gave up the first goal of the game in the seventeenth second of the game. But thanks to a brace from Robert Lewandowski, they rallied to defeat Alaves 2-1 in the second half. The veteran striker was obviously irritated at times during the game, even though he had finally regained his scoring form.
Robert Lewandowski’s real frustration, however, lay in Lamine Yamal’s solo effort. The teenager got the ball just outside the opponent’s penalty area, and instead of trying to find a pass, he decided to show his individual skill. Yamal dribbled past several Alaves players and attempted a shot on goal. The ball had everything except the direction as it went straight for the goalkeeper’s clasp.
In that instance, Robert Lewandowski let Yamal know how angry he was with him. Even when Yamal went up to shake hands with the more experienced player, he refused.
Besides this skirmish, this was a much-needed win for the Catalan giants. They were on the back of two losses in their last three games. This win will definitely boost the spirits of Xavi’s men.

Lewandowski talks about his handshake with Lamal
Robert Lewandowski addressed his differences with Lamine Yamal prior to Poland’s Euro qualifying match versus Czechia. The 35-year-old claims that since things don’t always stay under control, it is very acceptable to act out on the football ground.
Lewa said, ‘Honestly, there is no comment on it, because it was just an incident, so when it comes to my relationship with him, I have helped him several times and given him advice, even during this game. It’s normal to say or shout something on the pitch. The entire situation is an incident out of context and has no meaning. It happens.’
Another FC Barcelona player came out and spoke about the incident too. Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal, according to Inigo Martinez, have a “spectacular relationship,” and the Barcelona locker room is currently buzzing with excitement.
Inigo said, ‘Lewandowski and Lamine? Regarding those reprimands there are a thousand in each game, but the focus is on only one.’
He continued, ‘Robert already spoke and gave the explanations. I didn’t see that moment. I repeat, the team is united, the relationship between the two is spectacular. We are all united and we stay away from those controversies.’
