Real Madrid have struggled to compete with Barcelona this season at the domestic level. The arrival of Lionel Messi to Barcelona could make it tougher for Real Madrid. Still, Ancelotti said, “Messi can do whatever he wants and Barcelona too. It’s not an issue for me. I like him as a player. For Spanish football it could be nice to have him. But it’s a matter for Messi and Barcelona.”
Leo Messi left Barcelona back in 2021 owing to financial issues which they are yet to resolve. However, Barcelona are still trying their best to bring back Messi as they have already presented La Liga with a financial plan. La Liga rejected it but said they would accept other viable plans to afford Messi. In the meantime, PSG have agreed to let Messi leave as a free agent as his contract ends this summer.
PSG tried to renew and extend their contract with Lionel Messi twice, but the Argentine turned them down both times. There was news that they would still try to offer new deals as they were determined to retain the player. However, Leo Messi’s heart seemed to be away from the club. PSG fans seemed to not want him at PSG as well because they kept booing him during some matches.
In the midst of this, Lionel Messi has been noticed to take a recent flight to Barcelona. There have been reports, sightings, and videos of the player roaming in Barcelona with his family back at his old home. He has even been seen dining with two of his best friends at the club, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets. All roads seem to lead up to Messi’s return to Barcelona now.
