Leicester are currently sitting at 19th in the Premier League table. Everton’s victory over Brighton helped them to ahead in the survival race but they lost to Man City in the next game. Leicester have a chance to reach the safe zone if they earn three points in the next game.
Dean Smith’s side will face in-form Liverpool in the upcoming Premier League encounter. With three more games to go, the Foxes can’t afford a loss. The 2016 Premier League winners are playing their worst season. The club was not happy with the performance and they decided to cancel their annual event, believing it would not be appropriate.
As per The Telegraph, the ceremony was set for next week but the club dropped their plan to host this amid the club’s poor show in Premier League.
Leicester City players will also see a 50% cut from their salaries if they move to Championship. The relegation clauses in the contracts are said to range between 35 and 50 per cent for all players. Their scouts have started their preparation to search options for next season.
The Telegraph adds that Martyn Glover who is the club’s head of senior recruitment, and his staff are monitoring the progress of young players in the Championship. Club may go for two loan signings Cameron Archer and Aaron Ramsey. The duo is on loan at Middlesbrough from Aston Villa.
Club manager Dean Smith said, “You can’t change what’s happened but you can learn from it, correct it and move on quickly,’ Smith said. ‘There was no point in us worrying about the Fulham game for two or three more days. I wanted to get it put to bed.”
He also added, “Players normally have their say in meetings but this time I did the talking and told them what I expected in certain situations, and what we will do better in future.”
Leicester City can still avoid relegation from Premier League if they put an extra-ordinary performance in the next three games. Even a victory will be a big boost to their survival chances.
