Legendary Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger set to visit India between November 19-23

Arsene Wenger, the legendary Arsenal coach, will visit India from November 19 to 23 to build the AIFF-FIFA Academy.

Arsene Wenger, legendary coach and FIFA Chief of Global Football Development, will visit India from November 19th to November 23rd. He stated a desire to invite ISL, I-League, and football NGOs to a special session held by AIFF. Wenger is also expected to establish a FIFA-AIFF academy for U-13 boys and girls.

Wenger is a member of FIFA’s football and technical advisory groups in addition to serving as FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development. In addition, he serves as the chairman of FIFA’s technical research committee. Wenger’s position also includes coaching education. According to Vision 2047, the AIFF envisions India as one of the top four football nations in Asia.

The 24-year plan has been divided into six four-year strategic programmes. The first of the six programmes, which will run until 2026, will attempt to enhance involvement at the grassroots level.

In the initial phase, the AIFF intends to establish a four-tier league structure for women’s football. The 10-team Indian Women’s League will compete at the highest level. The second division, five zonal leagues, and a new women’s youth league will follow in that sequence.

The AIFF will work to guarantee that at least 20 states implement the new women’s youth institutions by 2027. The AIFF intends to establish a three-tier national league system with 40 teams for men’s football.

Wenger praised India as a sporting nation. He said that he saw no reason why India will not be on the international football map with quite a plethora of players. He underlined that he had nothing against cricket, which he claims is India’s most popular sport. However, having spent so much time in England, Wenger referred to their example of valuing both cricket and football equally.
