Jack Grealish also had an easy chance to score but missed it. All of Leeds’ hard work, though, was undone by Kevin De Bruyne’s squared pass across the face of the penalty box in the closing play of the first half. Rodri assisted Mahrez in getting the ball, and he was there once again to aid Mahrez score when Meslier made a stop from the Algerian international.

Grealish intercepted the ball at midfield, ran into the penalty area, and squared it to his teammate for an easy finish that gave City a two-goal advantage early in the second half. The City duo teamed up once more to score City’s third goal. Haaland finished off a superb one-two in front of the Leeds goal with a flawless first-time effort for his 26th goal across all competitions this season.

The hosts, who concluded the day in 15th place with 15 points, managed to get one back through Pascal Struijk in the 73rd minute, but it was too late. Man City’s next encounter is against Everton at home on New Year’s Eve, while Leeds travels to St. James’ Park to play third-place Newcastle United.
