During France’s victory over Austria in the Euro 2024, Kylian Mbappe broke his nose. Despite this, he will not have surgery right now. The Real Madrid striker was hurt in the 86th minute of the match at the Dusseldorf Arena when he ran into Austrian defender Kevin Danso’s shoulder while he was competing for an aerial ball.
However, it seems like Mbappe will continue his journey in the UEFA Euro while wearing a mask. A statement from the French Federation said, “Mbappé will receive treatment in the next few days, but he will not undergo surgery in the immediate future”.
“A mask will be made for him so that the number 10 of the French national team can prepare for his return to the competition after a period dedicated to treatment,” the statement further added.

Despite Mbappe’s own seeming indication that he would play, there will now be a lot of speculation regarding his involvement in Friday’s Group D match against the Netherlands.
“Any ideas for masks”, he posted on X, formerly Twitter.
Now it remains to be seen if France risk the return of the star forward immediately in their next game against the Dutch. Another injury in the same place could spell doom for Mbappe, but France may suffer without their captain’s services.
