Kylian Mbappe INSISTS on intentions of staying at PSG amidst Real Madrid links

Amid rumours that Kylian Mbappe may go to Real Madrid, the Paris Saint-Germain star says he will stay with PSG for the upcoming season.

Despite being linked with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain starlet Kylian Mbappe has underlined his willingness to stay at PSG next season. Kylian Mbappe has already stated that he will decline the option of a one-year extension in his contract when it expires next June.

“At the moment, I’ve only one option: staying at PSG. I plan to be there when the season starts”. Kylian Mbapee was quoted saying.

Mbappe sprung a shock when he informed his team that he was hesitant to extend his contract beyond 2024. The player’s contract has a one-year extension clause that only he may use.

Mbappe, on the other hand, is adamantly opposed. The Ligue 1 powers are not pleased with the position. They have made it obvious that if Mbappe does not renew his contract, he will be sold in the summer.

Mbappe was the world’s second-most expensive acquisition when PSG acquired him from AS Monaco in 2017 for an estimated 180 million euros. In 260 matches for PSG, he has scored 212 goals. Mbappe spent five years with the team before becoming PSG’s all-time leading scorer, contributing to the club’s five trophies in his six seasons.

For the past several years, there have been rumours that Mbappe is considering leaving PSG. Despite their league victories, PSG has not been able to consistently contend for the UCL championship.

Real Madrid allegedly made a 200 million euro bid in a see-saw transfer window last summer in an effort to acquire his talents. However, Mbappe made the decision to extend his deal with PSG by two years.

Jude Bellingham, has already signed a contract with Real Madrid. However, after losing their best player Karim Benzema to Al-Ittihad in the Saudi professional league, they will be trying to add a forward.

PSG had previously lost Lionel Messi on a free transfer after he left at the end of his two-year deal to join David Beckham’s MLS team Inter Miami. Sergio Ramos just confirmed his exit from the French club. Neymar has also been linked with a transfer to Premier League powerhouse Manchester United.
