Kylian Mbappe drops major HINT on PSG Future

Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe has sparked speculation about his future by making ambiguous comments. The 24-year-old has chosen not to renew his contract with PSG, which expires next year. There are rumors linking the World Cup champion to a move to Real Madrid.

Kylian Mbappe has fueled talk about a possible departure from Paris Saint-Germain by making cryptic statements regarding his future. As the new football season begins, Kylian Mbappe’s future remains unknown. The 24-year-old star has declined to extend his contract with PSG, which is set to expire next year. The World Cup champion has been linked with a transfer to Real Madrid as well as other Premier League clubs.

When asked about his future and possibly leaving PSG, Mbappe replied enigmatically: “Reasons to believe it [that he could leave]? I’m a competitor, when I play, it’s to win. And no matter who I play with, no matter what shirt I wear, no matter where I play, no matter the year, I’m never satisfied, I just want to win, I’ll never be satisfied. I want to win the Champions League”

While he has expressed a wish to stay for one more season, the club’s president, Nasser al-Khelaifi, has declared that Mbappe either sign a new deal or leave the club this summer. PSG is now torn between selling Mbappe and risking losing him for nothing when his contract expires.

An interview was taken during the last international break and published this week by France Football. Mbappe expressed his desire for success as well as his displeasure with his club’s recurrent failures in the Champions League.

On his side’s struggles in that competition he said: “I don’t know what PSG are missing to win the Champions League, it’s not a question for me. You have to talk to the people who make the team, who organise the squad, who build this club. I just try to do my job as well as possible. “

“I was the best player, top scorer for the fifth year in a row in Ligue 1. Sometimes in football you face what is called a glass ceiling. That’s why it’s not a big question for me, it’s for those at the top”.

Mbappe’s responses will only help to highlight the player’s obvious displeasure with the club. Earlier in the interview, he stated that the club’s overall image is largely to blame for criticism of his career to far.

After refusing to extend a contract that expires in 2024, it remains to be seen how the club and the player manage their relationship. Real Madrid, his long-term suitor, remains the logical destination, with the number nine shirt at the club intriguingly available following the departure of his compatriot Karim Benzema.

Mbappe and PSG will have to face the realities of pre-season training shortly. When Mbappe rejoins the group, charismatic new manager Luis Enrique may improve his spirits a little.
