The kick-off for the high-octane Copa America 2024 final between Argentina and Colombia has been delayed by 30 minutes after a security breach at the Miami Gardens in Florida. As per reports and videos that emerged on social media, fans could be seen breaking through the southwest gate at the Hard Rock stadium.
This forced the southwest gate at the venue to be locked down and the kick-off to be delayed. The kick off time, which was supposed to be 8.00 PM ET (5.30 AM IST) has been delayed by 30 minutes and will now take place at 8.30 PM ET (6.00 AM IST).

As per reports, security personnel apprehended some fans who attempted to breach the security at the venue.
The Miami-Dade Police issued the following statement: “We have had several incidents prior to the gates opening at Hard Rock Stadium for the COPA America final game. These incidents have been a result of the unruly behavior of fans trying to access the stadium.
“We are asking everyone to be patient, and abide by the rules set by our officers and Hard Rock Stadium personnel.”
