JioCinema will broadcast the games of the upcoming Kalinga Super Cup set to commence on January 9th in Bhubaneswar. The Kalinga Super Cup, organized annually, serves as a major event in the domestic football calendar, bringing together 16 elite teams. This includes 12 teams from the Indian Super League (ISL) and four from the I-League.
The Kalinga Super Cup 2024 football tournament will follow a format where the participating teams are divided into four groups, each comprising four teams. The teams will engage in single-leg matches within their respective groups, with the group winners progressing to the semi-finals.
Notably, Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan and East Bengal find themselves drawn together in Group A for this tournament. Joining them in Group A are Hyderabad FC and a team from the I-League.
The tournament has seen past winners like Bengaluru FC in the inaugural edition of 2018, defeating East Bengal. FC Goa emerged victorious in 2019 by triumphing over Chennaiyin FC in the final. Following a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic from 2020 to 2022, the competition resumed in 2023, with Odisha FC claiming the title after defeating Bengaluru FC.
