Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham continued his sensational start to life at the club with a another goal on Sunday against Cadiz. The goal helped Bellingham equal a club record set by Cristiano Ronaldo. Bellingham scored his 14th goal of the season in Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory over Cadiz in Lal Liga.

Bellingham joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in the summer for a club-record fee of £88.5m. He has been at the forefront of the club’s success this season. The 20-year-old has scored 14 times in 15 games in all competitions. He helped Real to a top-of-the-table position in La Liga. The Los Blancos are also off off to an unbeaten start in the Champions League.

With his second-half goal against Cadiz, he has now scored more goals than any player in the club’s history in the first 15 games of a single season. Ronaldo, Alfredo Di Stefano and Pruden Sanchez held the record prior to Jude Bellingham. All three of them had scored 13 times in their first 15 games for the club.

Insidesport

Bellingham returned to the starting line-up after being ruled out of England’s last two Euro 2024 qualifying games against Malta and Northern Macedonia with an injury to his shoulder. Notably, Lucas Vazquez replaced Bellingham just after he scored, presumably to protect him.

Jude Bellingham leads the goalscorer’s list in La Liga with 11 goals at the moment. Atletico Madrid’s French striker Antoine Griezmann is giving him a tough battle for the Pichichi race with nine goals.

“Bellingham is fine,” Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said after the match. “He still has some problems in his shoulder but he feels fine with the protection.”
