Punjab FC on the other hand has found it difficult to adjust to the tempo of ISL since winning the I-League and gaining promotion to the Premier tournament of . They lost their opening two matches against ISL champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant and FC Goa. However, the northern side notched up their first point of ISL when they held Highlanders NorthEast United to a 1-1 draw at home. The point will do a world of good for Punjab FC as they look to build up on the good work.
“It is a big challenge for us against one of the very good teams. A good result will come with a good performance. I don’t think it will be easy for us. We know we have a difficult game, but we have put a plan for the game for how we will face the opponent and we will try to bring discipline into the plan,” Punjab FC boss Staikos Vergetis said.
