IWL 2023: AIFF fear club WITHDRAWAL due to MINIMUM WAGE policy, to allow…

Sujata claims that Diptendu Bose, a club official, has insulted her repeatedly ever since the day she took over. In advance of the competition, Kar also requested an early release from her obligations. According to sources, Coach Sujata Kar did not explain the reasoning behind her choice but stated that coaches should also be treated with respect.

Kar, a former member of the India national team, is recognised as one of the best female footballers to have ever represented India. In 2001, Kar led East Bengal to their first Kolkata Women’s Football League championship, and 22 years later, she was in the dugout when they won it again.

Kar and her partner Alpana Seal had a similar opportunity when they were noticed and offered to go on trial with the German club TSV Crailsheim, years before Bala Devi made history by playing for Rangers in Scotland. Even though the agreement ultimately failed, Kar was able to learn from the experience that her nation has potential to thrive at the highest levels even if it had not yet been discovered and explored.

Kar has served in a variety of capacities with several women’s teams over the years, but she has never wavered from her ultimate goal of improving the game by searching for exceptional players in West Bengal’s most rural communities, including the villages of Jhargram, Purulia, and West Midnapur.

The head coach asserts that she explicitly said that she needs time and trust to make things work in her first meeting with East Bengal senior management. However, Kar became frustrated with the officials’ interference and ultimately made the decision to leave his position.
