The reigning Euro winners will play two games this international break and before facing the Three Lions at the weekend, they will meet Malta at home. They started the qualifying campaign with a 2-1 loss to England. Spalletti’s side have taken seven points and are second in the table after four games. The Azzurri played out a 1-1 away draw to North Macedonia.

In their most recent outing, they beat Ukraine 2-1 to earn three points to claim second spot in Group C. Davide Frattesi scored a brace before pulling one back through Andriy Yarmolenko. Italy are only ahead of Ukraine and North Macedonia on goal difference with one game in hand. With the victory against Malta, they would look to reach double figures in the table.
