Hira Mondal who left Bengaluru FC a couple of weeks back was in search of an ISL club that could provide him with plenty of game time. Quite a few clubs were interested in signing the young talented defender, but ultimately it was NorthEast United for whom the Bengali defender signed the dotted line. At the beginning of the 2022–2023 season, the 25-year-old defender from Kolkata who previously played for East Bengal FC joined Bengaluru FC. The defender was one of the Red and Gold Brigade’s standout players during a challenging season, and he chose to move after receiving an offer from the Blues.
Mondal contributed to Bengaluru FC’s victory in the Durand Cup, but he didn’t play for Simon Grayson’s team in the Hero ISL.

Mondal, a full-back who enjoys moving forward into attacking positions, was honoured for his outstanding season with Mohammedan SC by being named to the I-Team League’s of the Season. Mondal, a fullback who enjoys attacking, gained notoriety for his great performances for the West Bengal Santosh Trophy team and his role in Mohammaden SC’s 2nd division I- League victory. Mondal has played for the teams Rainbow SC, Tollygunge Agragami, and Peerless in Kolkata. In 2015, he began his youth career at the Calcutta Port Trust.
