Bengaluru FC vs Kerala Blasters FC (03.03.2023):

Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters, two Southern rivals, will play one other in the first Indian Super League playoff encounter on March 3. The Sree Kanteerava Stadium will serve as the site of this match. The Blues’ ability to finish ahead of the Kerala Blasters is what allowed them to do so. Over the course of the two league games, the Blues have a stronger head-to-head record. This matchup between two fierce rivals who are both vying for the ISL championship should be exciting.

The ISL 2022–23 season for Bengaluru FC is among the best examples of a complete reversal of events. With only three victories from their first 12 games, the Blues were facing a miserable season. Although it seemed like there would be little chance of making the playoffs, Simon Grayson’s team won an astonishing eight straight games to qualify.

This season’s top forward in India is Sivasakthi Narayanan. In his 17 appearances for the Blues, he has scored six goals. The attacker also notched a hat trick in the final league victory over FC Goa. Sandesh Jhingan and Javi Hernandez are two other standout players who can lead BFC to a second ISL championship. The team is currently in a position where it cannot make a mistake and still have the best momentum going into the playoffs.

Kerala Blasters have not yet claimed the Indian Super League championship. The Yellow Army previously made it to the championship game but fell to Hyderabad FC on penalties. Ivan Vukomanovic’s soldiers were in a situation where they were so close yet so far away. The team will have an opportunity to eventually claim their first ISL championship, but they face an uphill battle.

Kerala Blasters FC is a tactically sound team, however this season they have had trouble maintaining consistency and rhythm. Kerala have suffered three consecutive losses going into the ISL 2022–23 season’s final league match. Having said that, fans of Kerala have a lot of hope thanks to players like Adrian Luna. He is among the league’s top foreign players.

ATK Mohun Bagan vs Odisha FC (04.03.23):

On March 4th, ATK Mohun Bagan will play host to Odisha FC in the second round of elimination. The Mariners will have home field advantage in this game if they finish in the top three. The game will take place at Salt Lake Stadium, where ATKMB won seven of their ten league games. The Mariners will enter this match with all guns blazing as they look to end a trying season by winning the ISL championship.

Given the calibre of the team, there was a lot of expectation on ATK Mohun Bagan to qualify for the playoffs. With one of the strongest squad depths at his disposal, Juan Ferrando will have the advantage going into the playoffs. The Mariners’ vital victory over Kerala Blasters FC gave them a chance to advance to the playoffs.

ATK Mohun Bagan is having trouble scoring goals. This season, it has been their major weakness. They have the fewest goals among the top six teams with 22 in 20 league games. Despite this, the Mariners will always benefit from the brilliance of players like Dimitri Petratos and Hugo Boumous who can single-handedly alter the course of any game.

Insidesport

By winning playoff berths in the ISL for the first time ever, Odisha FC wrote a new chapter in their brief existence. In order to advance to the knockout rounds, the Kalinga Warriors needed Bengaluru FC to defeat the Gaurs after losing their final league match against Jamshedpur FC. Although qualifying in this way wasn’t the plan, the team is looking forward to pulling off a few surprises.

Diego Mauricio and Saul Crespo, two respectable individual players for Odisha FC, have the ability to turn any game in their favour. It also reveals the team’s lack of unity, though. The team as a whole needs to step up for the club because Maurcio’s goals are relied upon too much.
