SC East Bengal are still winless this season and Manolo Diaz highlights how hard it has been for him to keep his players motivated. The Spaniard said, “It’s a difficult situation. But we after the first goal, we played well. We had very good opportunities.”
SC East Bengal have struggled to put up good performances this season. Therefore Manolo Diaz has found it difficult as he believes that his team’s performances have not been good enough.
“All the players are doing their best but the performance – it is what it is. We have a big problem regarding the three points. The squad is doing their best but it’s not enough – the level we have,” Diaz asserted.
The biggest highlight from the game was when Franjo Prce was injured, Adil Khan was seen warming up as a potential replacement. But the Spanish tactician decided against bringing Adil Khan. There have been several questions regarding a few players and their exclusion from the starting eleven. Those players include the likes of Adil Khan, Semboi Haokip and some others. When asked why he did not opt for Adil Khan, Diaz replied, “Amir (Dervisevic) has played in their position like midfielders. And Raju (Gaikwad) played like centre-back. It’s his natural position. That is the reason I have done this changes.”
The criticism against Manolo Diaz is mostly because both Adil Khan and Semboi Haokip have done reasonably well in their short cameos. Therefore fans and even some experts want them to take the field for the Red and Golds. At this point, Diaz should be trying out different players because it is clearly not working out with his regular starters.
Also, injury to Dutch midfielder Darren Sideol adds more trouble to his selections plan. Now even Franjo Prce hobbled off the field due to injury and things will surely go downhill even more if the Croatian is not available for some time.
The Kolkata outfit will face the high flying Hyderabad FC next in the Indian Super League as Manolo Diaz and his men still look for their first win of this season.
