They lost 1-3 to Odisha FC, 1-3 to the defending champions Mumbai City FC and 0-1 to Hyderabad FC. They lost their last match against FC Goa 1-2. BFC will be trying their in order to win their second fixture against last year’s finalists ATK Mohun Bagan.
“We are disappointed with performances so far specially against Hyderabad FC and FC Goa as we lack focus, concentration and communication in these games. It is not easy to play against a side like ATK but we need to step up and against other sides as well. We need to take next steps like sleeps on and perform well in order to comeback to winning ways” said Marco Pezzaiuoli, Bengaluru FC coach.
ISL 2021-22: Problems behind Bengaluru FC’s poor performance in Indian Super League
The major issues with Bengaluru FC this season is Sunil Chhetri’s form and the injury problems. Chhetri is yet to open his account in this season and has not converted the simple chances that he had inside the box. He has also not able to convert two penalties.
“We are not much worried about Chetri’s bad form as it is not important. He is trying and sometimes the form doesn’t support players. He has not performed till now but he is helping the team in defence and he scored an important goal against FC Goa. He is trying hard to overcome this. He is an excellent player and will try to convert more chances in the upcoming games,” said BFC coach
The injuries are also a point of worry for the coach as players like Udanta Singh, Leon Augustine and Aakashdeep Singh wouldn’t be available for selection till the end week of December 2021.
“We played a friendly game this weekend and Udanta Singh was part of that game and he came as the substitute and was still having some problems while playing. He will be out till December end due to his ligament injury.” said BFC coach regarding Udanta Singh’s injury update.
