India Football Team practice session

While the rest of the members of the Blue Tigers took an active part in the practice, the forward however sent his time on the bench. During the start of the practice, he was spotted having a word with the assistant coach before taking his place in the bench.

The rest of the players led by skipper Sunil Chhetri toiled hard in a hot and humid evening in Kolkata. The skipper playing his last match, amazed the media with a brilliant triple dribble. But young forward Vikram Pratap Singh is out of the game owing to a card suspension.

Why no practice for Vikram Pratap Singh?

The Mumbai City FC forward has played a pivotal role for the club as has been his case for the country. But owing to multiple accumulation of yellow cards, the young forward will have to sit out this game. Instead he will be cheering the team from the stands as 62,000 people will attend the game to witness the Last Dance of Sunil Chhetri in National Colours.

Be it the AFC Asian Cup or the World Cup Qualifiers, Vikram Pratap has been a regular member in the referee’s book. In the last 2 encounters against Afghanistan, he was brandished a yellow card in both the games. In India’s first AFC Asian Cup game against Australia, he was again warned by the referee.

And thus with the accumulation of these many yellow cards, the young forward will have to sit out for this crucial World Cup 2024.
